A group of Burke County churches, led by the Catawba River Baptist Association and in partnership with Foothills Service Projects, is organizing the fifth annual BurkeChangers, a youth-focused missions camp from Sunday to Wednesday. Modeled after the now-discontinued World Changers program, a national faith-based mission camp, it involves middle and high school students in worship, prayer, and community service projects. The students also participate in evening events, which include community block parties at five locations throughout Burke County that feature food, games, and prizes. These activities aim to strengthen faith and foster connections between churches and local families to make a positive impact and change communities. The camp will culminate in a service that celebrates all of the accomplishments. Organizers hope BurkeChanges will continue to be an annual event, emphasizing service, unity, and Jesus' command to love our neighbors. It's time to change Burke County!!
